Packed with loads of flavor and spice, this Jamaican Jerk Seasoning is perfect for just about anything you’re grilling up this summer!
Jamaican Jerk Seasoning is one of my favorite seasonings. This seasoning is da bomb on just about anything!
I pulled this recipe from a July 2011 Coastal Living issue, and with a few minor tweaks it’s been my seasoning of choice all summer long for years.
Why You’ll Love this Recipe
You can sprinkle it on all kinds of things. Chicken, fish, shrimp, veggies, turkey burgers…the list goes on.
It’s jam-packed with flavor, and it’s spicy kick is to die for!
Ingredients You’ll Need
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- dried thyme
- dried parsley
- granulated sugar
- salt
- cayenne pepper
- paprika
- ground allspice
- black pepper
- crushed red pepper
- ground nutmeg
- cinnamon
Step-By-Step Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a jar and shake well. The mixture will keep in the jar for up to three months.
I add 1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper which is plenty of heat for me, but if you prefer your foods even spicier by all means add a bit more. The recipe makes 1/2 cup, but I like to double it and keep it in a jar, so when the craving hits for something deliciously spicy I’m always prepared!
Please let me know if you give the recipe a try. And if you have any questions about the recipe, just drop a comment below. Enjoy!
A Few Cook’s Notes for Jamaican Jerk Seasoning
I added 1 1/2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper, but if you like things super spicy you can add more.
I like to double this recipe so I have lots on hand for summer grilling. I use it on lots of things and it lasts for up to three months.
