Bring on the pumpkin because it’s fall guys!! These moist Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins are packed with chocolate chips and loads of fall flavor!
I baked us a sweet little pumpkin treat folks. We all know when we’re well into September and Halloween is just a few weeks away, it’s pumpkin here, pumpkin there, pumpkin, pumpkin everywhere! And today, my pumpkin game is strong.
I hope you caught my Pumpkin Bread with Maple Glaze from a few weeks back because it’s amazing if I do say so myself. And today’s muffins are just as delish.
Why You’ll Love this Recipe
These sweet little muffins are incredibly easy to make, they’re moist, they’ve got loads of pumpkin flavor, and they’re packed with chocolate chips throughout AND on top.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- baking soda
- salt
- ground cinnamon
- pumpkin pie spice
- granulated sugar
- dark brown sugar
- canned pure pumpkin
- vegetable oil
- eggs
- milk chocolate chips
When I make muffins, I always use a tip I learned from Sally at Sally’s Baking Addiction, where you bake the muffins for the first 5 minutes at a very high temperature and then lower the heat for the remainder of the time. This helps the muffins rise nice and high.
Step-By-Step Instructions
First, in a large bowl you’ll whisk together your flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice.
Then in a medium bowl you will whisk together your granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin, vegetable oil and eggs until well combined.
You will add to the dry ingredients until just combined and no flour streaks remain and then fold in 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips.
You’ll divide the batter evenly among muffin cups, filling each 3/4 full. Top batter with remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips, a few in each cup.
Bake for 5 minutes at 425 degrees, then reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees and then bake for an additional 15-17 minutes or until a tester inserted in center comes out with just a crumb or two.
These are great enjoyed for breakfast with a hot cup of tea, coffee or fall cider, as an afternoon snack, or as a dessert! Take your pick, or treat yourself to all 3!
