This Pumpkin Spice Old Fashioned is the perfect little cocktail to toast our way right through the fall season! It’s your classic Old Fashioned cocktail with a tasty pumpkin spice twist! Cheers!
I think it’s safe to say pumpkin season is now in full swing, am I right?!
And it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted a tasty little libation here at the BHK, so let’s toast fall with this Pumpkin Spice Old Fashioned shall we??
One of my husband’s favorite cocktails is an Old Fashioned. It’s a classic cocktail made with bourbon or rye whiskey, simple syrup, Angostura bitters and a cherry or orange peel for garnish.
I decided to give the classic version a little fall twist with a homemade pumpkin spice syrup. I’ve been making this pumpkin spice syrup for a few years now to make my pumpkin spice lattes at home.
You only need a handful of ingredients to whip it up, it smells like pumpkin pie in a jar and it’ll keep in your fridge for a month! Winning!

I’m not only celebrating the fall season with this delicious cocktail today guys, but I’m sharing the talent of one of my dear friends who I happened to virtually meet years ago when I first started The Beach House Kitchen.
Michael from Michael’s Woodcrafts is a super talented friend who’s owned his own wood and sign shop for over 36 years. I have been the lucky recipient of a few beautiful products from Michael’s shop and each and every time I use them when entertaining they get rave reviews.
Today’s cocktail is featured on one of Michael’s newest creations. This gorgeous maple burl with white pigment charcuterie board is a total show stopper. The craftsmanship is just amazing. I hope you folks click on over to Michael’s site and check out what he has to offer. Christmas is coming and his boards and other items make the perfect gifts for friends and family.
I hope you folks give this cocktail a try this fall season. It would be perfect as a signature cocktail for your Thanksgiving celebration too!
Cheers to pumpkin season friends!

A Few Cook’s Notes for Pumpkin Spice Old Fashioned
You will need to use 100% pure pumpkin for this recipe. I use Libby’s brand canned pure pumpkin. Do not use canned pumpkin pie mix.
The pumpkin spice syrup will keep in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to one month.
