This Easy Skillet Stovetop Lasagna is a weeknight dinner game changer. It’s everything you love about lasagna, but one skillet on your stovetop, super simple and no mess.
Updated: This post was first published here at the BHK in April 2020. I’ve since updated the post and added a VIDEO below. I thought it would be perfect for a reshare this holiday season.
Hey there folks. Just a few more days until Christmas. Are you ready?
I’m ready as I’ll ever be. This year is going to be super low key for us because of what’s going on in the world, but it’ll still be special.
We plan on spending time at home having movie nights, catching up on some good books, new Netflix series and playing a few new board games that are on our list from Santa.
We’re going to make the best of it. Hope you are too.
In between our game playing, reading and TV watching, we’ll need to whip up some quick and easy delicious meals to keep us all satisfied.
I’m a fan of lasagna, but when I’m busy, it’s not one of the first things on my list of things to make for dinner….unless it’s my absolutely Easy Skillet Stovetop Lasagna. It’s a total game changer!
No boiling noodles ahead of time, no layering, no oven, just one skillet, on your stovetop and you’ll be enjoying an Italian favorite in just about 30 minutes.

It’s everything you love about lasagna, just super simple and no mess. Are you buying what I’m sellin’? I hope so, because this is one of the best dinners to come out of my kitchen like ever.

I’ll be sharing a simple dessert this Wednesday, instead of my usual Thursday this week. It’ll be the perfect little fun, sweet treat for you and the kiddos over Christmas break. Stay tuned.
A Few Cook’s Notes for Easy Skillet Stovetop Lasagna Recipe:
I used sweet Italian sausage for this recipe, but you could also use hot Italian sausage.
You can use a deep 12-inch skillet or a 4 or 5-quart Dutch oven for this recipe.

21 hours! That sounds exhausting! I imagine dishes like this are totally in order after all that. Glad you made it safely. We must be on the same wavelength, as I just made a “broken Lasagna” dish with a partial box I had in my pantry. But i imagine my fam would love this recipe just as much! And I love the ease of making it! Pinning!
It was tough, but it’s good to be back minus the cold weather! Dishes like this are the perfect warm up!

This is such a tasty, easy version Kathy. Hope you give it a try!
Hi, I Made this for dinner tonight. It was sooo good !!! Wa,state has let the stay home order expire. For some reason, I’m still a bit stuck in the stay home thing. I had no ricotta or fresh basil and no cottage cheese. I wasn’t willing to go to the store so here is my improv. Made the recipe according to directions but substituted homemade pesto cubes from the freezer(2) I really had nothing to sub ricotta so I put some heavy cream in to simulate dairy creaminess. It was so delicious. I will definitely make it again but following the recipe. Thanks so much
So HAPPY you enjoyed it Becky! This dish has been a fan favorite. I love your change ups! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Mary Ann, made this again yesterday as Seattle still seems to be in comfort food mode. I actually had all of the proper ingredients this time. It was fabulous! My husband actually requested it. It was so yummy. Thank you for all of your work. This recipe is definitely going to be a regular. Stay healthy.
I’m so happy you and your husband enjoy it Becky! We love it too. I’ll be sharing the recipe in video eventually! Thanks so much for following!
We have made this once before and we are making it again tonight but with ground turkey to reduce the calories. Cant wait!!!
I’m so excited you tried the recipe and enjoy it!! Great idea to substitute with ground turkey. Thanks so much for following the blog!
Can I use no boil noodles?
Hi Erika. No, you’ll need to use regular lasagna noodles. You’ll love this easy dish. It’s one of my husband’s favorites!
The perfect dish…especially while the kids are home! Love the video, Mary Ann! Great job!
Thanks Annie! Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
I always think of lasagna as a good option for Christmas Eve dinner. Your skillet version would make things even easier! Happy holidays to you Mary Ann!!
It’s so much easier than the whole layering thing Katherine. I do love a traditional lasagna, but when I’m busy, this is my go-to!
We just moved to Japan and are living in a hotel. We have no access to an oven and I was craving lasagna. This was the perfect recipe. Made it exactly as written. Will definitely make again. Thank you for a great tasting meal!
So happy you enjoyed it Angela! You’re very welcome. Enjoy Japan!
Love this reshare Mare! There is a time and place for lasagna, for sure! But when you want something quick – I’m all in! I love the organic layers of this lasagna… so much comfort!
Our favorite Traci! Thanks!

I’m so happy you enjoyed it! The leftovers are the best!
So glad I found this! Easy and delicious. I am not a ricotta texture fan so I used feta. Adds a little bite. Definitely making this again.

Recipe was very good but it took longer than listed to get the noodles soft.
All depends on the exact temperature on your individual stove Susan. So happy you tried the recipe! It’s one of my family’s favorites!
