This easy Chocolate Chip Pie is absolutely delectable! It’s beyond easy to make and you’ll only need a handful of ingredients, most of which I bet you’ve already got in your fridge and pantry. It’s a treat that’s delicious served warm topped with some vanilla ice cream!

I don’t know about you guys, but my weekend NEEDS an easy Chocolate Chip Pie!
I’ve had a lot on my plate lately, but I’ve always got room for a slice of this delicious pie served warmed with either a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top or some fresh whipped cream.
Why You’ll Love this Recipe
You’ll need only 8 ingredients to whip up this pie and all of about 10 minutes to prep and 50 to bake. That’s a win-win in my book.
Using a frozen store-bought pie crust makes this recipe super duper easy.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- unsalted butter
- granulated sugar
- all-purpose flour
- pecan halves
- chocolate chips
- large eggs
- vanilla extract
- pie crust
I saw this recipe in my favorite magazine, Southern Living a while back and I’ve made it countless times since. The recipe in the magazine was called Wilma Tidwell’s Chocolate Chip Pie, named after the woman who created the recipe.
It’s so easy to throw together when you want don’t have a lot of time, but still want to enjoy a delicious, homemade dessert.
Step-By-Step Instructions
The first step is to melt your butter either on the stovetop or in a microwave-safe dish.
The second step is to add your flour and granulated sugar to a large bowl and mix together with a rubber spatula.
The third step is to add your melted butter, lightly beaten eggs, vanilla extract, roughly chopped pecans and chocolate chips to the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
The fourth and final step is to pour the mixture into your frozen pie crust, smoothing the top with a rubber or offset spatula. You’ll bake the pie at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
The only change I made to the original recipe was to add some vanilla extract for extra flavor.
This is great for dessert or perfect for an after school treat for the kiddos. Hope you guys enjoy it and thanks Mrs. Tidwell!

If im using a homemade pie crust, does it need to be par baked or just be frozen when adding the filling? I dont want a soggy bottom crust.
It can just be unbaked Jody! This one is delicious. I hope you enjoy it!
