One of my favorite things to make homemade is granola. I’ve never been a fan of store-bought. Granola is a protein-packed snack that’s totally customizable when you whip it up at home.
This Chocolate Cherry Granola is my newest flavor and I think you guys are really going to love it. It’s got double the chocolate flavor, some unsweetened cocoa powder and some mini chocolate chips, double the nuts, pecans and almonds, some unsweetened shredded coconut and some tart dried cherries.
Chocolate Cherry Granola Ingredients
- old-fashioned rolled oats
- slivered almonds
- pecan halves
- unsweetened shredded coconut
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- kosher salt
- maple syrup
- coconut oil
- light brown sugar
- vanilla
- dried cherries
- mini chocolate chips
How to Make this Chocolate Cherry Granola
This granola is beyond simple to make. You’ll combine your oats, nuts, coconut, cocoa powder and salt in a large bowl and whisk together. And then in another small bowl you will combine your maple syrup, melted coconut oil, brown sugar and vanilla.
You’ll pour the maple syrup mixture over the oat mixture until it’s well moistened and then you’ll spread the mixture onto a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes.
When you remove the tray from the oven you will want it to cool for at least an hour or more without stirring so you’ll get those nice big clumps of granola goodness. Once it’s totally cool you can stir in your cherries and mini chips.
The chocolate cherry flavor combination has always been one of my favorites, so I just love this granola. Hope you folks will too!

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine first six ingredients together in a large bowl. Combine maple syrup, melted coconut oil, brown sugar and vanilla in a small bowl and whisk until well combined. Pour the liquid mixture over the oat mixture and mix until well moistened.
- Spread onto the baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool to room temperature for at least an hour or more without stirring. If you don't stir you will have nice big clumps of granola goodness. (my favorite!) I like to let mine cool overnight on the tray so it crisps up really well. Once cooled, stir in the dried cherries and mini chocolate chips. Store in airtight container.
