Welcome to the New Beach House Kitchen!

Kitchen Renovation

Happy Monday friends! Hope everyone’s weekend was wonderful. I’m changing it up today at the BHK. Instead of sharing a recipe, I’m sharing something a little different and I’m really excited about it! It’s my happy place. The place where it all happens! My New Beach House Kitchen! I know a few of you asked me to post some photos of the new digs, but summer, as usual, was crazy busy! I also wanted to wait until every last little detail was completed. So, here it is guys…the new BHK!

Kitchen Renovation

Tom and I were so excited with the way things turned out. Our friend Samuel from Kitchenview Custom Cabinets in Paradise, Pennsylvania did the renovation. He is an incredible custom cabinet maker and he totally exceeded our expectations. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none. Samuel, his wife Barb, right hand man Amos and all the installers were incredibly easy to work with and made designing the new kitchen a breeze.

Kitchen Renovation

The cabinets in our previous kitchen were white. We were really looking to warm things up a bit this time, so we went with a calming, warm gray color and couldn’t be happier with our choice. Another big change this time around was adding an island. It’s so nice to have a place where people can sit and chat with me while I’m cooking now. We also went with a quartz counter top. I wanted the look of a carrera marble, but didn’t want the stains to go along with it. I love it!

Kitchen Renovation

Tom and I also decided that we wanted the wood of the range hood to be similar to the color of driftwood. I have to say I was a little nervous trying to convey the exact color to Samuel. I wasn’t sure he would be able to get it exactly the way I wanted. I don’t know why I even doubted for a moment that he might not get it right! First try…BINGO! Perfect match! We loved the color so much, we also used it for the counter top at the bar/coffee area.

Kitchen Renovation

As you can imagine, I spend more time in my kitchen than in any other room in my house! So the new and improved beach house kitchen is like a dream come true! Hope y’all have a fabulous week!

Gorgeous! Love the colors! As I start the process of designing a new kitchen, I want to make sure the counters have space for my food processor, my Zo bread maker, and – something I’ve never had before – a KitchenAid stand mixer. Do you leave those appliances out normally, or do you have built-in storage for them?
