Welcome to the New Beach House Kitchen!
Happy Monday friends! Hope everyone’s weekend was wonderful. I’m changing it up today at the BHK. Instead of sharing a recipe, I’m sharing something a little different and I’m really excited about it! It’s my happy place. The place where it all happens! My New Beach House Kitchen! I know a few of you asked me to post some photos of the new digs, but summer, as usual, was crazy busy! I also wanted to wait until every last little detail was completed. So, here it is guys…the new BHK!
Tom and I were so excited with the way things turned out. Our friend Samuel from Kitchenview Custom Cabinets in Paradise, Pennsylvania did the renovation. He is an incredible custom cabinet maker and he totally exceeded our expectations. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none. Samuel, his wife Barb, right hand man Amos and all the installers were incredibly easy to work with and made designing the new kitchen a breeze.
The cabinets in our previous kitchen were white. We were really looking to warm things up a bit this time, so we went with a calming, warm gray color and couldn’t be happier with our choice. Another big change this time around was adding an island. It’s so nice to have a place where people can sit and chat with me while I’m cooking now. We also went with a quartz counter top. I wanted the look of a carrera marble, but didn’t want the stains to go along with it. I love it!
Tom and I also decided that we wanted the wood of the range hood to be similar to the color of driftwood. I have to say I was a little nervous trying to convey the exact color to Samuel. I wasn’t sure he would be able to get it exactly the way I wanted. I don’t know why I even doubted for a moment that he might not get it right! First try…BINGO! Perfect match! We loved the color so much, we also used it for the counter top at the bar/coffee area.
As you can imagine, I spend more time in my kitchen than in any other room in my house! So the new and improved beach house kitchen is like a dream come true! Hope y’all have a fabulous week!

Stunning! Love, love, love that hood. And I totally agree about the countertops. We recently switched our old, beat up marble for durable quartz. Couldn’t be happier. Congrats on your kitchen, so beautiful I’d never leave!
Thanks Cathy! I’m so happy we went with the quartz! I’m sort of OCD with stains, so it couldn’t have been the more perfect pick!
Beautiful. Enjoy.

Tom and I had so much fun working on it Emily! Thankfully we both have similar tastes, so everything went smooth. Now we are just enjoying it. Hope you have a Happy Halloween and a wonderful week!
Oh my how lovely Mary Ann. I could work there no problem! Dave has two licenses (Custom Cabinet and General Contractor), so I can appreciate the time and effort that goes into something like this. The choices are fantastic and I love that sink area at the end near the window. The colors are great, happy cooking & baking there!
Thank you so much Kevin! Yes, lots of work goes into it and Samuel and his crew did an incredible job! The sink area looks right out on the bay behind our house. It’s a great view! Happy Halloween!
It looks wonderful, Mary Ann! Love the color combinations – the soft blue gray is perfect and I love how you used beach elements like the driftwood for the range hood. A great job – You must be so happy!
Thanks Geraldine! We’re really enjoying it! Samuel did a fabulous job! Each time I walk into the kitchen I still can’t believe it’s mine! Happy Halloween and have a great week! XO

Your new kitchen is just BEAUTIFUL, Mary Ann! I absolutely adore the gray cabinets and that driftwood hood!! Of course I love the quartz counter tops, because it’s exactly what we want to use in our own kitchen when we do the remodel. WISH I lived next door, because I’d be over hanging out with you in your fancy new happy place all the time. ;) cheers, friend!
The countertops are wonderful Chey! No stains! You’re welcome at the Jersey shore anytime! XO
Oh my goodness! A dream come true indeed! I LOVE it, Mary Ann!! The wood accents completely warm up the space and are gorgeous… is it walnut? I’d go with the quarts too.. smart decision. The gray cabinet work… OH MY! I love everything about it! What a place of inspiration to work in every day! Congratulations my dear! It’s gorgeous!
Yes, it’s walnut. The hood and the counter top at the bar/coffee area are the favorite parts of my kitchen! Hope your week is going well!

Thanks Laura! XO
MaryAnn, your kitchen turned out beautiful. I really like the way you took the tile all the way up the wall.
Thanks Karen! I saw that in a magazine and really loved the look!
Absolutely gorgeous!!! I love that hood! It’s totally the color of drift wood, way to go Samuel! The cabinets are also beautiful. Great job with the design. Having redesigned our kitchen a few years back, I know how difficult it is to choose all of the finishes. I’m sure you’re having an amazing time cooking in it now! Enjoy. :)
We really love it Coley! Samuel is such an awesome craftsman! We were lucky to find him!
Gorgeous! Love the colors! As I start the process of designing a new kitchen, I want to make sure the counters have space for my food processor, my Zo bread maker, and – something I’ve never had before – a KitchenAid stand mixer. Do you leave those appliances out normally, or do you have built-in storage for them?
Hi Ruth. Thanks so much. You are going to love your KitchenAid stand mixer! Besides my Keurig, it’s my favorite kitchen appliance. I keep it out on my counter at all times because I use it so much! Thanks for stopping by the blog and leaving a comment! Have a great night!
