A sweet and spicy glaze makes these Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Horseradish-Honey Mustard Glaze a healthy, easy side no one can pass up!
Hey there friends.
I first posted this recipe for Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Horseradish-Honey Mustard Glaze way, way back in 2014. 10 years ago. It was the third recipe I posted here at the BHK.
I actually don’t think most of you folks have ever even seen it, so I decided to tweak the recipe to perfection and add all new photos and notes to entice you guys to give it a try because I know you’re going to LOVE them!
Why You’ll Love this Recipe
This recipe is all about the glaze. If you’re a fan of brussels sprouts you have to try this glaze. I know you’ll love it. It’s a little sweet, a little spicy and made from only three ingredients, so it’s beyond easy to make.
And of course anything with bacon and there’s no chance I’m passing it up. Bacon makes everything better!
Ingredients You’ll Need
- brussels sprouts
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
- honey
- prepared horseradish
- coarse-grain mustard
- bacon
Step-By-Step Instructions
The first step is to place brussels sprouts on a large baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until fork tender.
The second step is place diced bacon in small skillet and cook over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towel lined plate.
For the third step you will make your glaze by whisking together your horseradish, honey and mustard in small saucepan. Heat over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until thoroughly heated.
The last step is Remove brussels sprouts from oven and place in large bowl. Toss sprouts with bacon and the glaze.
I happen to really LOVE brussels sprouts, but I feel like brussels sprouts don’t really get the recognition they deserve. They are high in protein, low in calories and with just one serving you meet your vitamin C requirement for the day! Just remember, it’s how you dress them up that makes them yummy.
Roasting them brings out their somewhat sweet, nutty flavor, but it’s the glaze in this recipe that’s going to change your mind about this important veggie with benefits. The spicy horseradish, sweet honey, tangy mustard glaze and of course, the addition of a huge crowd pleaser…. BACON moves delicious side right to the top of the favorites list!
These are the perfect side for the holiday season this year, so I hope they make the list!

A Few Cook’s Notes for Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Horseradish-Honey Mustard Glaze
Everyone’s oven is a bit different, so roast your brussels sprouts until they’re fork tender. I roasted mine in a 425 degree oven for roughly 20 minutes and they were perfect.
My favorite coarse ground mustard is Inglehoffer’s Original Stone Ground Mustard. (Not a paid post. Just wanted to share what I enjoy.)

How do you use this glaze with chicken? I’m going to make the griddle sprouts now, but would love to know how to use it for chicken also.
Mary Ann
Hi Audrey. I would cook a few chicken breasts in a skillet and when they’re almost fully cooked, I would pour the glaze over them and continue to cook until the glaze is heated through and the chicken breasts are fully cooked. Enjoy!
