This Maple Milkshake is rich and creamy with the wonderful flavor of maple. It’s the perfect ice cream treat for fall.
Hello friends and Happy Saturday!! If you are a regular follower of the blog, you must be wondering what I’m doing here bright and early this morning! Am I right??
Well, I’m so excited, because I have decided to start something new on the blog, and I’m calling it Simple Saturday! I love coming to you twice a week, and sharing what’s going on at the BHK, but doing a whole ‘nother post every week? Well, I wasn’t quite sure! So I’ve decided to go with one Saturday every month. It’s not going to be a set Saturday, I’m just going to fit it in when I can. I’ll just be flying by the seat of my pants as the saying goes! When something quick and easy pops into my head that I think you all might enjoy, I’ll be sharing it with you! The one thing I can guarantee is that it’s going to be just plain and SIMPLE!
We all do so much during the work week, so weekends should be super laid back and easy, so the recipes, and maybe some cooking tips I’ll be sharing on Simple Saturday will follow suit. No long lists of ingredients, and difficult directions, I promise!
The idea of doing the extra post was mine, but I’m gonna give credit where credit is due, and the whole idea of calling it “Simple Saturday” was my husband Tom’s! We were walking through a little antique shop down in Cape May, New Jersey a few weeks ago, and we saw the milkshake glass from today’s post. I had to have it! Tom said it would be perfect for the wonderful Maple Milkshake he has when he goes up to Vermont each year with his friends on his motorcycle trip. He said it’s one of the best milkshakes he’s ever had! It’s smooth and creamy with just the right amount of maple syrup, AND it’s just plain simple! Tom said you guys would LOVE it! Then he suggested calling this extra post a month, Simple Saturday and the rest is history! I LOVE when someone does the thinking for me! So friends, that’ how Simple Saturday came to be! Now it’s time to kick back, pour yourself a big old Maple Milkshake and enjoy the weekend!

I was totally thinking, “What the?” When your email popped into my inbox this morning. I was also thinking, “it IS Saturday right?” Lol. Tom is a genius and I’m loving this Simple Saturday idea, Mary Ann! Also loving this milk shake! Yes to easy peasy, yes to maple and YES to delicious creamy drinks! Pinned! Cheers and happy weekend!
Thanks so much Cheyanne! Sometimes easy is all I can handle! And milkshakes? I can always handle one of those! Enjoy your weekend!
I love this milkshake, and I love Tom’s ideas! Looking forward to many more simple and delicious Saturday recipes from BHK! Have a great one!
Thanks Allie! Have a great weekend with the boys!!
What a great idea, Mary Ann, especially the ‘fly by the seat of pants’ part. The week is busy enough.. then the weekend comes, I want to do as little as possible. So your simple Saturday is something I could get used to! Many thanks to Tom and for your delicious creativity. I love ice cream year round, and the maple just shouts Fall. Your photography is just gorgeous my dear. I wanna grab that straw and get to slurping!
Thanks so much Traci! Your comments are always much appreciated!! You’re a doll! Enjoy your weekend!
It’s great to have something easy and tasty like this good looking milkshake. You and Tom are doing a great job. Simple Saturday is the way to go.
Thanks Gerlinde! At first when he mentioned it I wasn’t sure I would like it, but I’m so glad I tried it because it really is delicious! It would go well with your apple strudel cake!!
Mary Ann! I love this idea! Weekends should be easy and this milkshake definitely works! I can’t wait to see more of your Simple Saturday’s!!
Thanks Jessica! Just something totally fun and easy!
This is awesome!!! Maple is one of my favorite fall flavors, and I love this for some of those still lingering warm days.
Thanks Jessie! Mine too! I think the milkshake would work perfect with your Red Hot candy apples to cool my mouth down! I love those!
Oh wow this milkshake sounds fantastic! I love the idea of adding maple syrup to the shake. And wet walnuts are my favorite! Fantastic!
Thanks Kelley! Hope you enjoy it! Have a great week!
