These Air Fryer Honey Jalapeño Lime Chicken Skewers are so easy to make. They’re cooked in your air fryer in no time and they’re coated with a honey lime butter that’s absolutely delicious! They’re perfect for lunch, dinner, snacking and your weekly meal prep.
I finally bit the bullet and got myself an air fryer guys.
My friend Gerry bought one and raved about it, so I decided it was time. A good amount of the time it’s just Tom and I, so I got a 4-quart air fryer by Cosori. I decided to purchase one because cooking things in the air fryer is a healthier option over deep frying.
Air fryers also cook faster than the traditional oven. The preheat function only takes 4 minutes unlike conventional ovens that could take up to 10 minutes or more. So this is a win-win for me when I’ve had a super busy day and want to make something quick, yet healthy for dinner.
Why You’ll Love this Recipe
The marinade for these chicken skewers takes less than five minutes to make, as well as the honey lime butter.
And the skewers cook up in the air fryer at 400 degrees for roughly 10-12 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F. That’s it! Could dinner get any easier?
These skewers are also perfect to cook up and use for your weekly meal prep. Just enjoy a few pieces as a delicious protein-filled snack.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- boneless skinless chicken breast
- olive oil
- low-sodium soy sauce
- honey
- limes
- jalapeño
- garlic
- kosher salt and pepper
- butter
- paprika
Step-By-Step Instructions
First, you’ll combine all your marinade ingredients in a bowl and whisk together or in a jar and shake until well combined.
Add your chicken to a large bowl and pour the marinade over your cubed chicken and toss. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and transfer to the refrigerator for at least one hour or up to overnight.
While the chicken is marinating you can make your honey lime butter by combining all the ingredients in a small bowl and mixing together until smooth. Set aside until after the chicken is cooked.
You’ll preheat your air fryer according to the manufacturer’s directions. While the air fryer is preheating you will add your chicken to your skewers, roughly 5-6 pieces per skewer. Add a few chicken skewers at a time in a single layer to the fryer without overcrowding and cook at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until no longer pink inside or until the chicken has an internal temp of 165 degrees, turning the skewers over at the halfway point. Mine took 10 minutes, so I flip at 5.
You will remove the skewers when they’re done cooking to a large baking sheet and brush generously with the honey lime butter and then serve.
I hope you guys break out the air fryer and give these a go. If you don’t have an air fryer, these skewers can be cooked on your grill instead or you could even cook the chicken in your oven at 400 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.

A Few Cook’s Notes for Air Fryer Honey Jalapeño Lime Chicken Skewers
I try to cut my chicken breasts into equal size pieces for even cooking.
If using wooden skewers, soak the skewers in cold water for about 20 minutes before threading on your chicken.
This chicken is perfect for weekly meal prep. I usually make a batch at the beginning of the week and snack on it or enjoy it for lunch added to a salad all week long.
The honey lime butter is a must, so don’t skip it. It’s super tasty.
