- 2-2 1/2 lbs. rack of baby back ribs
- 1/4 cup yellow mustard
- 4-6 Tbsp. BBQ spice rub, use your favorite
- 3-4 Tbsp. light brown sugar
- 1 cup BBQ sauce, use your favorite, plus more for serving
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or tinfoil and set aside.
Remove the membrane from the back of your ribs and discard. Lay out some tin foil and place your rack of ribs on top. Slather your ribs, front and back, with some yellow mustard. Make sure the entire surface is covered. Don't worry, you won't taste the mustard after the ribs are cooked, it just helps the rub stick better to the ribs.
Sprinkle the ribs generously, front and back, with your favorite BBQ rub, the you'll sprinkle some light brown sugar on top of the ribs. (just the top)
Seal your ribs up tightly in your foil and place on a rimmed baking sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Remove the ribs from the oven after the 1 1/2 hours and open the foil, drain the extra grease and then pour your favorite BBQ sauce over the top of the ribs. You'll seal the ribs back up in the foil and cook for an additional 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, remove the ribs from the oven, open the foil and then continue to cook for an additional 20 minutes.
You can use whatever BBQ rub and BBQ sauce you prefer.
We like to serve our ribs with extra warm BBQ sauce.
Ribs are best cooked low and slow, so don't be tempted to raise the temp to hurry things along. Good things come to those who wait.
