Filling
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1/3 cup green onions, thinly sliced and finely chopped, extra for topping, if desired
- 1 Tbsp. freshly grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 2 Tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce, extra for topping, if desired
- 1 Tbsp. chili crisp, extra for topping, if desired
- 1 Tbsp. rice vinegar
- 2 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
Dumplings
- 26 dumpling wrappers
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil, more as needed
- 1/3 cup vegetable broth
- 3 tsp. toasted sesame seeds, for garnish, if desired
Filling
Add all filling ingredients to a large bowl and mix with hands until well combined.
Scoop about one tablespoon of the filling into the center of each dumpling wrapper and then squeeze the wrapper over the top and the sides, not the bottom. I usually do this on a baking sheet or cutting board. (see photo above)
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add your vegetable oil and once heated, add some of your dumplings, leaving space between them. Pour the vegetable broth into the skillet in between the dumplings, then cover the skillet and let the dumplings steam for about 6-8 minutes or until the pork is cooked through.Depending on how big your skillet is you may need to cook the dumplings in two batches. If so you may need more oil and vegetable broth.Once the dumplings are done steaming, uncover your skillet and cook for another minute or two or until all the broth has evaporated and the bottoms are slightly crisp. Internal temperature should be 160 degrees F. Serve dumplings topped with toasted sesame seeds, extra soy sauce, chili crunch and sliced green onions, if desired.
