Mulled Cider

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • 1 tsp. whole cloves
  • 1 tsp. whole allspice berries
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 star anise
  • 1 orange thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar firmly packed
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to almost a boil.
  • Lower temperature and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and ladle into mugs leaving solids behind.
