Packed with loads of flavor and spice, this Jamaican Jerk Seasoning is perfect for just about anything you’re grilling up this summer!
I’m keeping the BBQ theme going this week with my all-time summer favorite, Jamaican Jerk Seasoning! This seasoning is da bomb on just about anything!
I thought I would share this recipe for a Simple Saturday because it’s so incredibly easy, but I didn’t want to take the chance that you guys would miss it, so I opted to share during my routine weekday posts. I pulled this recipe from a July 2011 Coastal Living issue, and with a few minor tweaks it’s been my seasoning of choice all summer long for years.
I sprinkle it on all kinds of things. Chicken, fish, shrimp, veggies, turkey burgers…the list goes on. It’s jam-packed with flavor, and it’s spicy kick is to die for! I add 1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper which is plenty of heat for me, but if you prefer your foods even spicier by all means add a bit more. The recipe makes 1/2 cup, but I like to double it and keep it in a jar, so when the craving hits for something deliciously spicy I’m always prepared!
I’m keeping it short today folks, because I’m spending some time with my mom who’s up from Florida and living it up with me at the Jersey Shore. Hope you all have some fun planned for the weekend ahead! Get grillin’! Enjoy!
